White Desert and Mantis will be operating 5 types of adventures in 2010. Please note that all travel and schedules for Antarctic travel are governed by weather and itinerary lengths may be modified accordingly.

The White Lion experience can be added to any of the White Desert trips. This experience includes a sunset cruise aboard a luxury yacht in the Cape Town bay, 3 nights of five-star accommodation at a The Last Word property in Cape Town and 2 nights at the award-winning Sanbona Wildlife Reserve, a behind the scenes experience of the reserve’s white lion and a complimentary bush spa massage.

CONDITIONS OF BOOKING

After the client signs the White Desert Terms & Conditions, Disclaimer and Medical Form, their booking will only be confirmed by payment a 25% deposit. Final payment is made 3 months prior to scheduled departure date. In the case of Antarctica departure delays, hotel accommodation rates for additional nights, must be negotiated directly with the hotel.

INCLUDED in the price

1. Airport collection in Cape Town and transfer to your hotel.
2. Safety briefing and cocktail party in Cape Town.
3. Return flight to Antarctica (inc. a 30kg baggage allowance).
4. All accommodation, food and drink (including all alcohol) in Antarctica.
5. All guiding fees, support of field guides and logistics staff.
6. The use of certain items of polar clothing, as denoted on equipment list.
7. Flight to Emperor penguin colony.
8. Payment by White Desert Ltd of a ‘Carbon Tax’ for offsetting emissions created by all logistics associated with Antarctic travel. We will also pay to offset your flight to Cape Town International from anywhere in the World.
9. For guests who have opted for the White Lion add-on, The Last Word accommodation is offered on a bed and breakfast basis and includes all soft and alcoholic beverages, while Sanbona is offered on an all-inclusive basis.

EXCLUDED from the price

1. Commercial flights to and from Cape Town, South Africa.
2. Accommodation and meals whilst in Cape Town (excluding White Lion guests).
3. Polar clothing. Please note, these items can be purchased on your behalf by a member of White Desert team.
4. Comprehensive insurance cover. White Desert staff can advise you as to the right kind of cover required.
5. Additional expenses incurred in Cape Town due to any delay.
6. Additional baggage costs over the agreed amount.
7. Cost of the use of a satellite phone whilst in Antarctica.
