What is ICEHOTEL?
A hotel built of ice and snow, would be the most common response. The first and the largest in the world, someone might add.

The ICEHOTEL idea stems from where it is located: Jukkasjarvi. The river Torne, which flows outside its buildings, the cold arctic climate, The Northern Lights and the Midnight Sun have been the inspiration for the unique experiences the ICEHOTEL has to offer.

So it is not only a hotel which is built each winter, it is an ephemeral art project. And it does not have a menu created for every season, but cultivates the many flavours of Swedish Lapland.

ICEHOTEL opens in several phases. The first phase is completed December 10th and each week thereafter a new section opens. Main Hall and a handful of Snow rooms open up on December 10th, ABSOLUT ICEBAR opens December 12th and the Ice Church is completed on December 23rd. More suites and rooms will be available each week until December 30th when the construction of ICEHOTEL is completed.
