Founders Lodge is a character-filled 1940’s manor house, situated on a private 400-hectare reserve directly adjacent to the malaria-free Big 5 Shamwari Game Reserve.  Used as the Gardiner family’s personal holiday home for 20 years, it has been newly renovated to accommodate guests in exquisite 5-star comfort. The Lodge is geared towards personal, tailor-made experiences – many based on the activities and adventures that the Gardiner family and their friends have enjoyed over the years. The reserve is filled with plains animals only, to allow guests the opportunity to explore the ruggedly beautiful landscape on foot.  Guests also have direct access to game drives at neighbouring malaria-free, Big 5 Shamwari Game Reserve, where they can look forward to thrilling encounters with Africa’s famous Big 5.
