The Pearl in the Mantis Collection

Mantis has built its collection of more than 70 unique destinations by always finding that one exceptional setting—and that’s why they have chosen Pearl Valley Golf & Country Estate as the home for their latest hotel.

This was confirmed today by Mantis Founder and Chairman Adrian Gardiner at the launch of Pearl Valley Hotel. “This will be the largest hotel in the region,” he said. “With 80 rooms we can cater for larger events, but remain small enough to provide the quality service and personal attention for which Mantis and Pearl Valley are renowned.

Complete Make-Over for Top Franschhoek Hotel

With a little lateral thinking we turned a catastrophe into triumph…

The Last Word Franschhoek, one of three properties in The Last Word Intimate Hotels’ portfolio, is ready for business after it was totally flooded after torrential rains hit Franschhoek in South Africa’s Western Cape, last year.
The successful reparation of this five-star hotel was on schedule, and the doors are now open to guests who appreciate the luxury of a sincere local welcome, and a tranquil ambience.

To add to the excitement of the refurbishment, four superior double rooms were added to the original six-roomed property. International and local visitors will be pleased to know the hotel now has the capacity to accommodate 10 couples who can expect the same attention to detail, personalised yet discreet hospitality and understated elegance for which The Last Word Intimate Hotels is renowned.

Opened in May 2014, in time for the Franschhoek Literary Festival; the new rooms are upstairs and open out onto the majestic, surrounding mountains that protect the quaint village of Franschhoek.
