Nurturing minds today, for tomorrow.
Education is a fundamental pillar of Mantis. It is often not possible to separate Mantis Education from other business pillars as it is the vehicle of choice when implementing solutions in our conservation and community projects.
With conservation, hospitality and education being the founding pillars of Mantis; we have aligned with partners and developed programmes that expose young minds to the tourism industry, and the practical preservation of the natural world.
Worldwide Experiences is at the forefront of Mantis Education. Worldwide Experience, initially called Eco Africa Experience, developed a conservation volunteer programme in response to demand.
It was this demand that drove the inspiration and commitment to developing a safe, supervised and structured programme delivered by professionals for students and volunteers. Here they could not only learn about wildlife and conservation, but gain hands-on experience in the field, allowing them to make a difference to the natural ecosystems and surrounding communities.
Stenden University South Africa
The relationship between Stenden and Mantis goes back to 2001 when Adrian Gardiner co-founded Stenden South Africa.
This is the only university in the southern hemisphere that offers a B.Comm in hotel management, hospitality and disaster management. Stenden South Africa is an International Branch Campus of Stenden University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands.
Mantis has since sponsored numerous students from disadvantaged communities in the Eastern Cape and incorporated them into the ranks of Mantis establishments around the world.
In 2019, the first recipients of the combined AccorHotels and Mantis bursary began their studies at Stenden South Africa.
