Mantis Kestrel Valley Nature Reserve

A Mantis Impact Experience

Mantis Kestrel Valley Nature Reserve provides rustic accommodation to volunteers who are part of the Kestrel Valley Conservation Voluntour experience. This is a Mantis Impact Experience that takes gap-year students and conservation enthusiasts behind the scenes on a working conservation project.

Mauritian Conservation

Kestrel Valley is a private nature reserve within an indigenous Mauritian forest. 200 hectares of land that is now dedicated to the conservation and expanding the area of indigenous forest. The end goal in expanding the indigenous forest is to increase the natural habitat that will support wildlife species which are unique to Mauritius. Many of the conservation activities that form the immersive experience at Kestrel Valley feed into this goal. The Kestrel Valley Nature Reserve is the base camp from which Mantis Impact Experiences guests will participate in various conservation programmes. Ranging from the top of the Bambous Mountains cascading off the hilly countryside to stop just 2km from the Indian Ocean, Kestrel Valley Nature Reserve is an expansive location perfect for in-depth exposure to all facets of rehabilitating an ecosystem that was previously centred around hunting.
