The Galapagos Islands, the Finch Bay Way

Finch Bay Finch Bay Hotel offers a number of ways to enjoy the magical archipelago. From day trips to nearby islands on board our own yacht, to ocean adventures including scuba diving, sea kayaking, snorkelling and swimming, as well as multiple opportunities to see the islands’ famous wildlife, the Galapagos are yours to explore.

Within the hotel grounds, the pool attracts finches, herons and ducks as well as sunbathers throughout the day, and the talcum-white beach is just steps away, its gently-lapping waters blue as a boobie’s foot.

At dusk, as the sunset casts its golden shadows across the sea and thousands of cattle egrets fly towards the mangroves to roost, you can look forward to a gourmet meal from our Cordon Bleu chef using fresh local ingredients, and falling asleep to the uninterrupted sound of the waves.

We Can Book Your Flight

Make sure you book your flight to Baltra Island (GPS), or even better, ask us to book your flight so that you don’t take unnecessary risks. Arriving By Your Own Means

Upon arrival to Baltra Island (airport) take a short ride by bus to the Itabaca Canal (make sure you take the bus to the canal, NOT to the pier) then cross the Itabaca Channel by ferry to Santa Cruz Island. Once on the other side of the canal, take a bus or a taxi to Puerto Ayora town (through the highlands of Santa Cruz, distance of 26 miles or 42 km). Upon arrival to Puerto Ayora, walk to the public dock and take a water taxi to the dock of the Finch Bay Hotel; from here you will need to walk a short path to the hotel (5 or 7 minutes). The Finch Bay Eco Hotel is close to:

  • 45-60 min by land to the world-renowned Tortuga Bay Beach
  • 15 min walking from the Charles Darwin Station
  • 30 min by land to the highlands where there are giant tortoise reserves, lava tunnels, the twin craters and more waiting to be explored!
