Hotels, Eco Escapes & Lifestyle Resorts | Unearthing the Exceptional
High on a grassy knoll, just steps away from the surf-washed beaches of the French Atlantic coast, lies Maison Tamarin, a converted Basque farmhouse that offers a warm welcome for up to fifteen guests.
The views here are spectacular – turn in any direction and you’re caught between the devil (if the devil is the high, imposing Pyrenees) and the deep blue sea. This boutique charmer is located near both the adorable fishing port of St Jean de Luz and the alluring faded glamour of Biarritz, where Frank Sinatra, Betty Davis and Rita Hayworth used to flash their Hollywood smiles. Whether you’re a sport or nature enthusiast, a surfer or a golfer, this is your ideal French home away from home.
The Maison Tamarin is a chic eight bedroom beach house, set in a lush, private five-acre estate. Weathered oak beams and Spanish terracotta complement cream stucco and French doors that open out on to the sea. In the bedrooms, fresh checkered Basque linens complement the soft blue and white décor and the sea views from the balconies, and the ensuite bathrooms are provided with fluffy bathrobes and luxurious L’Occitane pamper products.
Outside, there’s a choice of relaxing by the saltwater pool, or wandering down to Lafitenia beach, just a few steps away at the bottom of the garden. The villa can be hired on a self-catering basis, or a private chef provided, making it ideal for family reunions and special events, as well as sun-drench getaways for couples and friends.
Tastefully decorated, this large comfortable house has eight lovely bedrooms, each one with its own special character and all with en-suite facilities. Available on Self Catering, Catered or per room Bed and Breakfast.
The accommodation pods are heated and spacious, the views spectacular
Delicious fresh food three times a day.
