For Mantis Epic Hotel & Suites, sustainability goes beyond words – it is a part of who we are. Our hydroponic plants initiative began with a simple yet powerful goal: to foster conservation and create a living attraction within our spaces.Â
Before this project, decorating the hotel – our restaurants, rooms and conference spaces – often meant cutting fresh flowers from the garden. While it made the interiors beautiful, it silently weakened nature’s balance. Regularly cutting flowers can reduce pollination and seed dispersal, which directly affect biodiversity.
Our hydroponic system offers a better way. By growing plants indoors and in water, we keep our garden outside thriving, preserving its role as a rich habitat for birds and pollinators alike.Â
Over the course of just four weeks, the plants produce vibrant flowers that fill our spaces with color and life, all while keeping nature outside untouched and thriving.
Using natural liquid fertiliser, our system delivers nutrients directly to the hydroponic plants. With charcoal-filtered water and eco-friendly care, here’s what happens each week:
Week 1 – Roots & First Leaves
Nutrient-rich liquid fertilizer helps the plants start strong. Roots grow, and the first green leaves begin to show.
Week 2 – Healthy Growth
Leaves expand and strengthen. The charcoal-filtered water and just the right amount of sunlight supports steady growth as the plants prepare to bloom.
Week 3 – Buds Appear
Tiny flower buds begin to form as the plant shifts focus from leaf growth to bloom development.
Week 4 – In Full Bloom
The result? Strong, blooming plants that brighten up every room – without taking anything away from the natural garden guests (and birds!) love to explore.Â
