Dance and music is embroidered into the very fabric of Rwandan life.  The energetic traditional Igishakamba dance, rich in heritage, is a fusion of contemporary music influences with graceful and elegant movement. Sticks, whistles and drums are important instruments: The sticks guide the performance, the whistles create the collective rhythm allowing the non-verbal expression of the dance to flow.
This dance is performed at weddings, festivals, important cultural events and social gatherings. The storytelling incorporates the beauty of the long-horned Inyambo cows as well as the life of the semi-pastoral people of the region.
You will soon be tapping your feet to the rhythm and be spellbound by the elegance, grace and boundless energy of the dance troupe. It is historic, cultural and entertaining.
